  • Allison Hampshire of Eric Robinson Solicitors – Allison juggles motherhood with being a partner in a law firm, with responsibility for IT and Marketing as well as her own case load, she also does a significant amount of charity fundraising work.
  • Credited with the creation of the firms marketing message “ Making Law Make Sense” she has driven the business forward
  • Her organizational skills are truly second to none and her sense of balance between family and business impeccable and for that we salute her.
  • Her advice to women combining motherhood with business is ”organisation and honesty with a good dose of delegation”

  • Roberta Jerram of Linen at Home – Roberta has launched her new business Linen at Home within the last year and already has 79 consultants working for her.
  • The panel were impressed that through a recession Roberta had been able to create jobs for others.
  • A true entrepreneur Roberta’s former business Maraca Jacks was also nominated for an award under its new owner Caroline Payne.

  • Sam Willoughby of What’s on 4 websites – Sam found herself taking a different tack when it became clear that returning to her IT career was not going to work well with a new baby in tow.
  • With just a £150 investment Sam created the What’s on 4…. Websites, to which she currently has 50,000 visitors per month.
  • The introduction of an awards scheme for her advertisers on-line has taken Sam’s business to another level.

  • Julie Goehlert has been the Financial Director of Mercator Cargo for ten years and is very much the driving force behind all things financial within the business.
  • In addition to these responsibilities, it was Julie who spearheaded the introduction of marketing expertise to raise the profile of the business. Her efforts in this respect have significantly raised both client numbers and, in turn, profits for the business.
